For the past few weeks in Year 1, we have been learning how to write a postcard! 

We identified some of the things we needed for a good postcard and wrote a postcard to Max in the Wild Place.
Then we decided to write a postcard to someone in our family. We worked so hard writing and improving our postcards.

Today we finally sent them! Here are Kaiyan, ​ Ali and Umamah showing us their postcards, ready to send!

Year 1 parents: keep an eye on your mail......

In Year 1 we have been exploring Algorithms.

We used a Bee-Bot and gave it instructions. 

It moved around according to the instructions we gave it! 

​But it didn't always work though; we needed to use our problem solving skills and communication to get the Bee-Bot to where it needed to go.

In Year 1 we have been getting ready for the Winter Fair.
We decided to make delicious chocolate brownies!
​Here we are making them. Make sure that you try them!

Today in Year 1 we tested our boat to see if it could float.
Some of our boats did float but some did not.
We then thought about how we could fix the ones that did not float.
Hmmm... What do you think we can do to make our boats float?
