In Year 1 our topic this half term is 'Green Fingers'. We are learning all about plants and the environment around us. In Art, we decided to explore Claude Monet, who was a French artist who loved to paint nature. We took one of his garden paintings and chose our favourite section. Then we sketched it into our art books. The next day, we painted our section using primary colours and mixing them to create other colours. In Maths, we had a go at problem solving with our partners. We had to make houses with blocks, with each block being 1 room. How many different ways could we make a 7 room house? We had to make sure though that we only had 2 rooms on the floor. It was challenging! Can you have a go at home? |
