Science

The science unit in Year 3 is 'Parts of Plants'.  The children have been finding out about the life cycle of a plant and the function of the different parts of the plant.

The children have been observing and comparing roots in different plants.
Through various experiments the children have been investigating how water is transported within plants.
They have enjoyed sorting leaves and doing leaf rubbings whilst finding out how leaves use the energy from the sun to make their own food.

This week we have been examining the role of flowers, in pairs the children dissected lilies to help them identify the different parts found inside a flower and how these help with pollination.​
