As part of their topic on water, Year 3 have been finding out about states of matter and changing states. They have learnt that water can exist as three different states solid (ice), liquid (water) and gas (steam/water vapour).
The children investigated the factors that affect melting, they had some interesting results which allowed them to think about what happens to particles when materials change state. The children realised how particles in liquids must move as they themselves observed first hand how the blue ice melted and flowed then mixed with the yellow ice to form green water. Amazing Findings! Comments are closed.
