Today Year 2 were learning about 'metres' during maths. They had to work in groups to find objects in the classroom that were longer and shorter than their 'metre' stick and then record them on their charts Today Year 2 were split into different groups to 'story-map' the different sections of our class text: 'The Secret of Black Rock'. This involved working as a team to illustrate the different parts of their section of the story on large sugar paper using felts. The children had to make sure that their parts were in order and that they included key words and phrases from the text. Once completed, Year 2 will be able to use them to verbally retell the whole story in the correct order. This will later aid their independent writing. |
