Nursery class had their own mini classroom this week, where children took it in turns to be teachers and children. 'Teachers' practiced writing names whilst taking the register and taught their peers songs and numbers.
Some children enjoyed having a picnic and used Maths to count how many plates were needed and how to share food out. In the water tray, children used their fine motor skills to catch fish, before matching the number of fish they caught to numbers in the water. Outside, some children played with dinosaurs and found some delicious food for them to eat. Children are learning how to build on a story line during their play. For World Book day children in Reception enjoyed dressing up as their favourite characters. Some children really enjoyed role playing as the character they dressed up in.
Children in Reception where very keen on sharing their Family Homework with their class. We have been working on building our confidence, and to speak clearly in front of an audience. Children stood in front of the class a spoke about what their made and how their made it. |
