Preparations for our Festival of Triangles on Thursday 13th June continue.
Year 6 are helping nursery with their tetrahedrons...tricky work but much easier when you have a buddy to help you! The Sumdog competition between our classes here at William Davis and between other schools nearby as part of London Maths Week started today and finishes next Thursday. Children can play for free at home and in school...accuracy not speed is the key...1000 questions to get through.
Monday 3rd June
An exciting start to the week as preparations for maths week got underway. Lovely to see some of the Year 6 children supporting Year 1 and 2 with decorating bunting and practising maths games on Sumdog. The London wide Competition and our own William Davis Battle between the classes starts Friday!! Straws arrive in school tomorrow hopefully so we should be able to start making a few mini tetrahedrons on Wednesday. We need 300 to build a giant structure at the Summer Festival of Triangles next Thursday afternoon. Well done to those classes who have already decided on their stall for the Summer Festival too. Nursery’s salt dough key rings sound fantastic! We’ve already had several parents as well offering to help run stalls and make food already-thank you. Nursery up to Year 5 will be running family workshops next week. Please see the school newsletter for dates and times. Don’t forget dressing up day on Friday 14th June (shapes, patterns or numbers or all 3!) Keep collecting up those 5p's too, ready to donate, as classes will be competing to see who can make the longest line of coins! |
