Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)

Learning another language can open up many doors for the future of our children in an ever-changing world and society.
At William Davis the children have the opportunity to learn and extend their language skills in Arabic and Bengali by attending lunch time and after school clubs.
French
In classes children are exposed to the learning of French from Nursery to Year 6.
  • In the EYFS, children are taught the basics such as greetings and simple songs.
  • In Years 1 & 2 the children are taught via a scheme of work called ‘La Jolie Ronde’.
  • From Year 3 they are taught French via the ‘Catherine Cheater’ scheme.
