Children enjoyed doing art by using charcoal. They created images inspired by extracts from: Anthems for Doomed Youth by Wilfred Owen and Rae Smith's charcoal artwork.
Willow making; children pushed themselves during this task despite the challenges they faced. They all got there in the end and said it was quite therapeutic.
Night walk was fun with Gavin, children rolled down the hill and explored the night life. They also had toasted marshmallows around the campfire.
Tuesday 30th October
Children had a great day yesterday and have slept well, although one room of girls was noted to have been up at 3:45 am! We hope that they are not too tired today.
Children are doing cycling today and going on a trip to Stansted Mount Fitchett Castle.
Children did cycling and they were very brave. The campfire crafting was very fun they enjoyed making bread and eating it with jam.
We have arrived at Gorsefield, the children are very excited.
We went for a walk around the house, had some free time and unpacked.
Year 6 visited Billingsgate to take part in a Fish to Food Course awarded at the Tower Hamlets Healthy Lives event.
A fishmonger introduced the variety of fish species available and demonstrated how fish is prepared ready for cooking. We were able to identify the different parts of a fish.
We got a chance to remove the bones and skin.
We learnt how to remove a prawns head and had a go at it for the first time!
We prepared a selection of recipes and understood the benefits of eating seafood. We were amazed by the ease and speed of cooking fish.
