Nursery class had their own mini classroom this week, where children took it in turns to be teachers and children. 'Teachers' practiced writing names whilst taking the register and taught their peers songs and numbers.
Some children enjoyed having a picnic and used Maths to count how many plates were needed and how to share food out. In the water tray, children used their fine motor skills to catch fish, before matching the number of fish they caught to numbers in the water. Outside, some children played with dinosaurs and found some delicious food for them to eat. Children are learning how to build on a story line during their play. One of our focus children this week wanted to make ice lollies, so we poured fruit juice and water into lolly moulds. We made some predictions about what would happen when we put them in the freezer and when we got them out, we explored what happened to the juice in the freezer.
