In Art, year 3 have been learning about the famous Artist Louise Bourgeois and they created their very own Relief Art work.
As part of their DT unit Mechanisms, year 3 have been learning about levers and linkages. They have been making catapults.
Year 3 visited Epping Forest last week. They explored the forest and took part in an outdoor workshop linked to their learning in History.
The children got to experience first hand what life was like in the stone age period. They handled artefacts, did tracking, created fire and built mini shelters. It was all great fun! In DT, as part of their unit on food year 3 have been learning about 'What is a balanced diet?'
Year 3 have made healthier versions of some of their favourite snacks Potato Chips and Fruity Yogurt! As part of their art unit Drawing and Painting, children have been learning about Vincent Van Gogh and developing some of the painting techniques he used ie. Creating tints, Tonking, Sgraffito, Impasto and Resist Effects.
As part of their art unit 'Drawing and Painting' Year 3 have been making marks using different materials and have been developing techniques in painting such as creating tints.
Year 3 have been learning about prehistoric Britain. They have created a giant timeline to show the different stages from Stone Age to Iron Age.
