Year 4 began creating a plasticine painting on mount board with the theme of rainforests.
We had to warm the plasticine in our hands and then use tools to smooth out, carve and create the patterns and shapes we needed.
We had to be very patient as it was a long process to fill out our whole mount board!
Year 3, 4 and 6 took part in a workshop all about invertebrates. We found out why invertebrates are important to the environment and the food chain. We also found out why some invertebrates are endangered or have become extinct.
We then made ‘seed balls’ which can be planted to help improve the environment.
The workshop ended with a quiz about everything we had learnt.
We were very lucky to work with Bow arts on a special project about bees.
We started by looking at different ways of mark making and creating texture in our artwork.
We also used acetate to trace over each other’s faces.
In the afternoon, we used all the skills we had learnt to create drawings of bees and the environments they live in.
Look out for our work on display!
