Year 2 took part in the first of several workshops with Gregg and Oliver from the Apollo 5 choir.
They learned to use their voices to beat box different sounds and practised singing in different pitches.
They also began to learn the lyrics of some new songs ready for their forthcoming performance... watch this space!
In Music we have been learning 'pitch' means how 'high' or 'low' a sound is.
We have been starting our music lessons by tapping out the beat to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" on our bodies- the children love this part! We have been learning how to create and follow pitch lines so that we know when and how to change the sounds that we make with our voices. We have also learnt the lyrics to the song "Nosy Dog" and have been trying hard to sing the words in the right 'pitch'.
In Year 2 we are learning about the different ways that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) showed kindness to animals. We learnt that Prophet Muhammad was considered a great leader to many people and that he is very special to Muslims. We learnt that people tell stories about him to demonstrate his good character and to set an example for others to follow.
We watched two stories about Prophet Muhammad's treatment of animals (pbuh); Prophet Muhammad and the Ants & Prophet Muhammad and the Crying Camel. We then wrote about how each story demonstrated Prophet Muhammad's love and kindness for animals.
