Celtic Harmony Camp

The journey went really well and the children in Yrs 3,4 & 5 arrived safely at  Celtic Harmony Camp by 10:45. They carried all their luggage to the roundhouses.
They were welcomed by Waylin who informed that they were to be known as the Wolves tribe and they were being transported back in time to the Stone Age.

Waylin spent the day teaching the children the skills that they would need to live in a Stone Age village. He  taught them how to use friction to make fire; and he taught them how to make tools from flint. Children used soap and lollipop sticks to create their own "spearhead".  After lunch they  set off to hunt ( pretend) animals shooting mini spears at (pretend) animals such as wild boar and hairy mammoths. They  all had a great aim and we were successful collectively in shooting the giant hairy mammoth!

This afternoon and evening children were going to take part in several more activities today: gathering food and cooking; orienteering and playing field games; collecting firewood; pottery and a bat walk.
I think that the children will be exhausted by bedtime. They are having a lot of fun and  everyone looks happy!
